Reforming urban laws in Africa: a practical guide

This guide focuses on the law-making implementation challenge: how to make progress with an intention to make better laws for towns and cities in Africa. It proposes an approach to urban law-making that is grounded in an understanding of the local context. Produced largely by the African Centre for Cities, experience from senior practitioner researchers of urban law-making is combined to provide a practical guide for officials and other practitioners. The guide is also available in French and Portuguese. It is a resource good to have a better understanding of the laws determining how cities work, how the legal system works and how the government works at different levels.
