Strengthening health emergency preparedness in cities and urban settings: guidance for national and local authorities

This is an operational guidance document whose aim is to assist policymakers and authorities in helping member states become better equipped in urban health emergency preparedness.By focusing on the emergency preparedness of cities, the document supports overall health security improvement. The paper recognizes key challenges in health emergency preparedness and proposes possible actions and approaches, that can be adapted to different local contexts. This guidance document aims to support leaders, policy-makers and decision makers in both national and local authorities, who work on strengthening health emergency preparedness in cities and urban settings.
