Health in the green economy: health co-benefits of climate change mitigation - transport sector
This document is part of WHO’s Health in the green economy series. It describes how many climate change measures can be “win-wins” for people and the planet. These policies can yield large, immediate public health benefits while reducing the upward trajectory of greenhouse gas emissions. The document is very comprehensive with case studies, and applicable to all countries. As well as plenty of background material, it outlines health benefits of transport-related greenhouse gas reduction strategies. The resource is good for assessing, planning and financing healthy transport interventions. The resource is useful for the health sector and health policy-makers.
